Endpoints are used by rules to define an address range for processing. The provide a way to filter traffic from specific computers and TCP/UDP ports.
Each rule contains two endpoints that specify the local and remote addresses. All traffic that travels between the ranges defined by the endpoints gets filtered by the rule.
Endpoints are defined in the Classification page for the corresponding rule:

Each address and port range is displayed in the Local Endpoint and Remote Endpoint fields. To modify an endpoint, click the Change button. This will display the properties window for the endpoint.
The properties window contains two sections: Addresses and Ports. The address section is available for all IP based rules such IP, ICMP, TCP and UDP.
The port section is available only for rules that use the port-based protocols TCP and UDP.
