Direction - Rule Classification

Introduction

The direction field specifies whether the traffic stream is outgoing (upload) or incoming (download). This criteria allows you to define rules for traffic depending on the direction of data flow.

Usage

Before creating any rules it is important to set the correct orientation for each adapter in options. This ensures the directions are properly calculated by the server.

To limit traffic for a direction choose Upload or Download from the list. Upload filters all data that travels from the LAN to the internet, Download filters the opposite direction. A direction of Both filters all traffic for the specified endpoints.
